Reserve National Insurance Company was founded in 1956. Their parent company is Kemper Corporation, a publicly traded U. S. company that is a leader in the financial services industry. Kemper specializes in life, health and accident, and property and causality insurance and has over six million policyholders nationwide.

According to information on their website, Reserve National specializes in a number of health care services and offers health insurance that includes policies for hospitalization, hospital indemnity, accidental death, supplemental outpatient policies, supplemental dental and vision, supplemental Medicare insurance, home health care, and critical illness indemnity policies, as well as specific disease and life insurance plans.

Reserve National does have an A-Excellent rating with A.M. Best Company, a leading U. S. insurance rating company. However, this rating only tells you that the company is solvent and pays their claims.

When considering health insurance coverage with Reserve National (or any health insurance provider), it is advisable to read the fine print concerning coverage rates and limits very carefully.

Reserve National does not offer major medical and their policies do have limits assigned to certain procedures. For example, they may only pay a certain dollar amount per each surgery or they may have a daily room limit on what they will pay for the price of your room during hospitalization.

Additional information on their website indicates that they do not require a physical exam for medical coverage; their policies are protected by a renewal safeguard feature that prevents them from being cancelled by your insurance company, except in cases of non-payment of premium; and they do not have an age limit for including dependent children on a policy.

As is the case when considering any major purchase, it is a good idea to read the policy carefully, ask questions regarding anything you don’t fully understand, and seek the advice of a professional, if possible, before making a decision that will be with you for some time to come.
